David Heafitz is a vice president in the Global Technology department at Prudential Financial. In this role, he oversees enterprise technology for Global Security and Corporate Real Estate.

Heafitz’s career at Prudential began when he joined the Japan office in 2001, working in the Office of the President of Gibraltar Life. While at Gibraltar, he managed both business and IT projects focused on process re-engineering and localization. He is fluent in Japanese language and business practices.

At Prudential, Heafitz has applied his passion for integrating technology and business development to numerous “intrapreneurial” initiatives. He has been involved in various acquisition and divesture activities for Prudential and led a project in India to investigate potential partnerships with microfinance institutions to distribute insurance products via mobile devices. He led the integration of the Japan businesses’ data centers on the corporate network and the establishment of a decade plus growing subsidiary, Prudential Systems Japan Limited. He has represented the firm in technology innovation and early talent pipeline efforts in collaborative iniatives with Newark Venture Partners, Newark Public Schools, Per Scholas and the Liberty Science Center. In 2019, David accepted the Accessibility Award from the Voice Summit on behalf of Prudential for leading efforts in inclusive design in Voice Technologies.

Heafitz has a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Oberlin College and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and London Business School. Heafitz is a Trustee of the Kaplan Cooperative Preschool in Hoboken, New Jersey and member of the Board of Directors of the Change Machine, a national non-profit dedicated to improving financial wellness and mobililty for the working poor. He also enjoys advising start-ups in the financial and health and wellness space focusing on providing equality through technology to traditionally underserved communities. David is an active hiker and enjoys coaching his two elementary school children’s various sports teams and extracurricular engagements.
