Sean Coppinger

Sean is an experienced technology leader with over 20 years’ experience gained at companies across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He is currently the CIO of Group Functions at Standard Chartered Bank which includes responsibility for managing the Bank’s Risk, Finance, Legal, HR, Audit, CABM and Financial Crime Compliance technology platforms.

Sean joined SCB in 2016 to drive agile transformation and the application of modern technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency across regulatory processes and risk management activities. Breaking down silos, reimagining user experiences, and delivering for scale and speed are critical focus areas for the team given the breadth of markets in which SCB operates.

Before joining SCB, Sean worked at ANZ in Australia, where he led the implementation of technology solutions across the Risk, Credit Origination, and Capital landscape. Prior to this, he spent over a decade in London working with Global Banks and FinTech companies in the Risk and Trading domain.
