Tom is a seasoned technology executive with a strong strategy orientation, who has led major business initiatives, worn multiple hats, and built his experience across a breadth of functions.


As a result of his broad-based background, including managing numerous strategic transformation programs, driving innovation through technology, leading complex financial analyses, and running a business, he has developed a unique range of skills from strategy through execution.


His international upbringing and passion for travel give him a strong global perspective. His deep understanding of how enterprises function has equipped him to effectively balance strategic goals with business realities. He is known as a collaborative relationship builder and as a skilled leader who brings together and harnesses diverse perspectives.


Tom is a critical thinker, thought leader and innovative idea generator. He proactively drives value propositions and new operating models and is a trusted advisor to multiple C-Level executives. He has gained a reputation as someone who can synthesize large amounts of complex information into a focused, impactful path for action.


Previously, Tom led planning and governance for a multi-billion-dollar global IT transformation at General Motors, that resulted in a significant improvement in strategic impact to the company. On the heels of this success, Tom was appointed to help start up an Advanced Analytics function for GM globally, and then later served as Chief of Staff to GM’s Global Chief Information Security Officer, where he was responsible for global information security strategy and governance.


Prior to GM, Tom spent 14 years in the semiconductor industry, in roles with increasing responsibility, in the US and Europe. He gained invaluable leadership and technical experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Strategy and Business Architecture, M&A, and Information Technology.


Tom’s earlier career included leadership responsibility in the car rental industry in Europe, where he pioneered the use of data analytics to improve business performance. As a general manager with a P&L, he became versed in the importance of the bottom line.


Tom holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, and Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Washington in Seattle. An avid skier and rugby fan, Tom currently lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife and two children.
