Sam Hosey has over 20 years of experience in IT and innovation and has been an effective leader, strategist and relationship builder in the corporate and nonprofit sectors.
In his current role as director of Innovation for AF Group, Sam leads a team responsible for analyzing emerging industry, business and technology trends which translate into customer-focused capabilities, business models and solutions within the insurance industry – efforts that were recognized with a 2022 Innovation Award by Business Insurance Magazine.
Prior to joining AF Group in 2015 as a senior business analyst, Sam served as a senior business system analyst and system administrator for the Municipal Employees’ Retirement System of Michigan (MERS).
He has also held volunteer leadership positions with several nonprofit organizations, currently serving as vice president of Child and Family Charities’ Board of Directors and as a board member with Mutera Global Healing.
Sam has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Northwood University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University.
He holds AF Group’s CAWC (Certified Authority in Workers’ Compensation) designation, a certification in Innovation Management from Erasmus University-Rotterdam, and is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) with the Scrum Alliance.
